  • Pot arribar a fer 50 cm de llargària màxima[3] i 3.200 g de pes.[4]
  • 11-12 espines i 11 radis tous a l'aleta dorsal i 3 espines i 8 radis tous a l'anal.[5]

Es reprodueix a la primavera i a l'estiu.[6][7]

Menja mol·luscs i poliquets.[5][8]

[modifica] Hàbitat

És un peix d'aigua marina i salabrosa, demersal i de clima subtropical (40°N-20°N).[5]

[modifica] Distribució geogràfica

Es troba al Pacífic nord-occidental: des del sud de Hokkaido (el Japó)[9][10][11][12] fins al sud de Corea[13][14][15] i les costes centrals i septentrionals de la Xina i Taiwan.[16][17][18][19][20] És absent de les illes Ryukyu.[5][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28]

És inofensiu per als humans i apreciat com a trofeu entre els afeccionats a la pesca esportiva.[5]
