Bembrops filiferus és una espècie de peix de la família dels percòfids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.[8]

Etimologia[modifica]

Bembrops prové dels mots grecs bembras, -ados (una mena d'anxova) i ops (aparença),[9] mentre que filiferus fa referència a l'espina allargada i filamentosa de la seua primera aleta dorsal.[10]

Descripció[modifica]

Fa 22 cm de llargària màxima. 2-6 espines i 13-23 radis tous a l'aleta dorsal i 15-29 radis tous a l'anal. Maxil·lar amb un tentacle ben desenvolupat a l'extrem posterior.[11][12][10]

Alimentació[modifica]

El seu nivell tròfic és de 3,63.[13]

Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica[modifica]

És un peix marí, bentònic sobre fons sorrencs,[14] batidemersal (entre 62 i 450 m de fondària,[14] normalment a partir dels 300),[15] el qual viu al Pacífic: des del Japó[15][16][17][18][19][20][21] fins a Austràlia Occidental[22][15][23][24][25][26][27] i les illes Hawaii,[15][14][28][3][29][30] incloent-hi Indonèsia,[15][24][31][32] les illes Filipines,[33][31][34] Taiwan[35][31][36] i, probablement també, Nova Caledònia.[37][38][39][40][41][4][10][42]

Observacions[modifica]

És inofensiu per als humans.[10]
