Chauliodus macouni és una espècie de peix de la família dels estòmids i de l'ordre dels estomiformes. És present des del Mar de Bering[1] fins al Japó[2] i des del Golf d'Alaska[3][4] fins al Golf de Califòrnia.[5][6][7][8] Els mascles poden assolir 25,4 cm de longitud total.[5][9] És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes que viu entre 25-4.390 m de fondària.[5][10] Menja petits crustacis planctònics, cucs i peixos.[4] A Rússia és depredat per Gadus macrocephalus[11] i Bathyraja matsubarai.[12][13] És ovípar amb larves i ous planctònics.[14]
