Chrionema és un gènere de peixos de la família dels percòfids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.[1]

Etimologia[modifica]

Chrionema prové dels mots grecs chrio/chroa (tocar, fregar) i nema (filament).[2]

Descripció[modifica]

Es diferencia dels altres percòfids per l'absència de tentacles als maxil·lars i per la fesomia de les aletes.[3]

Distribució geogràfica[modifica]

Es troba a la conca Indo-Pacífica (des de la badia de Tosa[4][5] -el Japó-[6][7][8][9][10][11] fins a la mar de la Xina Oriental,[12] l'oest d'Austràlia -Austràlia Occidental-,[13][14][15][16][17][18] les illes Chesterfield[19][20] i les illes Hawaii -com ara, l'illa de Maui-,[21][22][23][24] incloent-hi la Xina,[6][25][26][27] Taiwan,[28][29][30][31] Malàisia[32] i Indonèsia),[33][17][34][35][36][37] el Pacífic sud-oriental (3 muntanyes submarines a la part occidental de la serralada submarina Sala i Gómez entre 25° 01′-25° 11′ S i 97° 28′-100° 49′ W),[38][39][40][41] l'Atlàntic occidental central (l'estret de Florida i el mar Carib,[42] incloent-hi l'illa de Cuba)[43][44][45] i l'Atlàntic sud-oriental.[46][47][48]
