Clarias és un gènere de peixos de la família dels clàrids i de l'ordre dels siluriformes.[3]

Es troba des del Sud-est asiàtic i l'Àsia Oriental fins a Àfrica, incloent-hi l'Índia i l'Àsia Menor. Algunes de les seues espècies han estat introduïdes als Estats Units (Florida), Indonèsia, Hong Kong, la Xina, Gran Bretanya, Papua Nova Guinea, Guam, Taiwan, Tailàndia i Cuba i han produït impactes negatius en llurs ecosistemes locals.[4]
