Coregonus sardinella és una espècie de peix de la família dels salmònids i de l'ordre dels salmoniformes.

Reproducció[modifica | modifica el codi]

Durant el període reproductor no menja[8][9][10] i la fresa té lloc entre les vuit del vespre i mitjanit.[11]

Alimentació[modifica | modifica el codi]

Menja crustacis planctònics i insectes,[12] matèria vegetal[13] i peixos.[14]

Depredadors[modifica | modifica el codi]

És depredat per Coregonus nelsoni, Esox lucius, Lota lota, Salvelinus namaycush i Stenodus leucichthys.[15]

Hàbitat[modifica | modifica el codi]

Viu a aigües costaneres, estuaris i rius i llacs grans.[7]

Distribució geogràfica[modifica | modifica el codi]

Es troba a Nord-amèrica (des del riu Murchison -Canadà- fins a Bristol Bay -Alaska-) i al nord dels Urals (des del riu Kolyma fins al riu Kara).[6]

Longevitat[modifica | modifica el codi]

Viu fins als 26 anys.[16]
