Himantura granulata és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels dasiàtids.[2]
Descripció[modifica]
- Pot arribar a fer 141 cm de llargària màxima.
- Presenta taques blanques i una cua blanca.[3]
Reproducció[modifica]
És ovovivípar.[4][5]
Alimentació[modifica]
Menja peixets, crustacis bentònics i d'altres organismes.[6]
Hàbitat[modifica]
És un peix d'aigua marina i salabrosa, associat als esculls[7] i de clima tropical (10°N-25°S) que viu entre 1 i 85 m de fondària.[3]
Distribució geogràfica[modifica]
Es troba a la conca Indo-Pacífica: Austràlia,[8] les illes Txagos,[9] Guam, Indonèsia,[10] Malàisia,[11] les illes Maldives,[12] la Micronèsia,[13] Papua Nova Guinea,[14] les illes Filipines,[15] les illes Seychelles,[16] Salomó i Taiwan.[17]
Ús comercial[modifica]
És consumit comercialment per la seua carn, la pell (d'alt valor) i el cartílag.[3]
