  • Els mascles poden assolir 123 cm de longitud total[6] i 31,9 kg de pes.[7]

És ovípar.[8]

Menja cladòcers, copèpodes i larves.[9]

És un peix d'aigua dolça i de clima temperat.[7]

Distribució geogràfica [modifica]

Es troba a Nord-amèrica: les conques de la badia de Hudson, dels Grans Llacs d'Amèrica del Nord i del riu Mississippí des d'Ontàrio fins a Saskatchewan al Canadà i des de Montana fins a Louisiana als Estats Units.[7][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][4]
