Kochichthys flavofasciatus és una espècie de peix de la família dels pingüipèdids i l'única del gènere Kochichthys.[6]

Etimologia[modifica]

Kochichthys fa referència a Kochi, la capital de la prefectura de Kōchi i port marítim situat a l'illa de Shikoku (el Japó).[7]

Descripció[modifica]

Fa 16 cm de llargària màxima.[8][7]

Alimentació[modifica]

El seu nivell tròfic és de 3,41.[9]

Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica[modifica]

És un peix marí, demersal i de clima subtropical, el qual viu al Pacífic nord-occidental: la badia de Tosa (el Japó)[3][8][10][11][12][13][14] i Taiwan.[15][4][7][16]

Observacions[modifica]

És inofensiu per als humans.[7]
