En aquesta llista hi ha personatges que s'han dedicat a la malacologia (l'estudi de mol·luscos), en ella s'han inclosos biòlegs, zoòlegs o naturalistes, que es van dedicar en la seva vida a l'estudi dels organismes del Phylum Mollusca, molts d'ells van realitzar estudis de biologia, història natural, ecologia, evolució, taxonomia i sistemàtica de Mol luscs o simplement realitzar estudis de les petxines dels moluscos o conquiliología.
Les persones que s'assenyalen en aquesta llista han estudiat tàxons de mol·luscs recents o fòssils, la qual cosa indica que s'hi han inclosos alguns paleontòlegs. La llista assenyala malacòleg que estan vius en l'actualitat així com aquells que van viure en segles passats que dediquen o dedicar les seves vides i esforç a l'estudi dels moluscos.
Considerant els extens i divers del Phylum Mollusca, encara avui dia falta molta gent que es dediqui es els estudis malacológics [1] per exemples no hi ha malacòleg vius que puguin identificar correctament tota les 143 espècies de de la família Onchididae[2], No hi ha un malacòleg que estudiï tots els cargols d'aigua dolça[3]
