Margariscus margarita és una espècie de peix de la família dels ciprínids i de l'ordre dels cipriniformes present a Amèrica del Nord.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19] Els mascles poden assolir 16 cm de longitud total.[5][20] És un peix d'aigua dolça i de clima subtropical.[5] Menja copèpodes, cladòcers, quironòmids, coleòpters i algues.[19] La fresa ocorre durant la primavera.[21]
