Monacanthus chinensis és una espècie de peix de la família dels monacàntids i de l'ordre dels tetraodontiformes.[1]
Morfologia[modifica]
Alimentació[modifica]
Menja algues, amfípodes, gambes, briozous, copèpodes i d'altres invertebrats.[4]
Depredadors[modifica]
A Austràlia és depredat per Sillago analis.[5]
Hàbitat[modifica]
És un peix marí, de clima tropical i associat als esculls de corall que viu entre 3–12 m de fondària.[3][6]
Distribució geogràfica[modifica]
Es troba des de Malàisia i Indonèsia fins a Samoa, el sud del Japó, el nord-oest d'Austràlia i Nova Gal·les del Sud (Austràlia).[3][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33]
Observacions[modifica]
És inofensiu per als humans.[3]
