Mylocheilus caurinus és una espècie de peix de la família dels ciprínids i de l'ordre dels cipriniformes.

Alimentació[modifica | modifica el codi]

Menja principalment insectes aquàtics i llurs larves, i, en segon terme, insectes terrestres,[7] crustacis planctònics, mol·luscs i peixets.[8]

Depredadors[modifica | modifica el codi]

Als Estats Units és depredat per Micropterus salmoides, Ptychocheilus oregonensis, Sander vitreus i Phoca vitulina,[9] i, al Canadà, per Mergus merganser americanus.[10][11]

Hàbitat[modifica | modifica el codi]

És un peix demersal i de clima temperat.[5]
