Oncorhynchus tshawytscha és una espècie de peix de la família dels salmònids i de l'ordre dels salmoniformes.

Depredadors[modifica | modifica el codi]

És depredat per Micropterus salmoides, Ptychocheilus oregonensis, Morone saxatilis, Sander vitreus, Megalocottus platycephalus, Oncorhynchus clarki, Oncorhynchus mykiss, Salvelinus malma malma, Oncorhynchus kisutch, Phoca vitulina i Somniosus pacificus.[7]

Hàbitat[modifica | modifica el codi]

Viu a zones d'aigües dolces, salobres i marines temperades (72°N-27°N, 136°E-109°W) fins als 375 m de fondària.[8][6]

Distribució geogràfica[modifica | modifica el codi]

Es troba des de Point Hope (Alaska)[9][10] fins al riu Ventura (Califòrnia, Estats Units), tot i que, ocasionalment, ha estat vist fins a San Diego (Califòrnia). També és present a Honshu (el Japó),[11] el mar del Japó, el mar de Bering,[11][12] el mar d'Okhotsk[13][14] i el riu Coppermine (l'Àrtic canadenc).[6]

Pot arribar a viure 9 anys.[15]
