Plotosus lineatus

La família dels plotòsids (Plotosidae) és constituïda per peixos actinopterigis de l'ordre dels siluriformes.[2]

Morfologia

  • Tenen la cua allargada d'una manera semblant a l'anguila.
  • La majoria de les espècies tenen quatre parells de barbes sensorials.[3]

Alimentació

Fan servir llurs barbes al voltant de la boca per detectar l'aliment.[3]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba des del Japó fins a Austràlia i Fiji.[4]

Observacions

Algunes espècies poden causar ferides doloroses, així, i a tall d'exemple, les picades de Plotosus lineatus poden ésser mortals.[3]
