Es troba a Papua Nova Guinea, Fiji[7][8] i Nova Caledònia.[9][10][11][12][6]

Forma bancs a les aigües costaneres.[6]
Observacions [modifica]
- És emprat en la medicina tradicional xinesa.[13]
- És emprat com a esquer en la pesca de la tonyina.[14]
