Trypauchen vagina és una espècie de peix de la família dels gòbids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.[2] present a Bangladesh, Cambodja, la Xina (incloent-hi Hong Kong), l'Índia, Indonèsia, Kuwait, Malàisia, Birmània, Oman, les Filipines,[3] Singapur, Sud-àfrica, Taiwan, Tailàndia i el Vietnam.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31] Els mascles poden assolir 22 cm de longitud total.[32][33] És un peix de clima tropical i demersal.[32] A l'Índia és depredat per Johnius dussumieri[34] i Otolithes cuvieri.[35][36] De vegades es comercialitza fresc.[37] És inofensiu per als humans.[32]
