Hola F3RaN! Sigueu benvingut/da a la Viquipèdia i al coneixement lliure. Us encoratgem especialment, abans de res, a visitar la introducció per a un començament fàcil en tres senzills passos . Si preferiu aprendre mitjançant un tutorial, podeu seguir el curset d'autoaprenentatge.

Aquesta és la pàgina de discussió del vostre compte d'usuari, que us servirà per a rebre missatges d'altres col·laboradors. Per a contestar, no ho feu a la vostra pàgina de discussió sinó a la pàgina de discussió de l'usuari que us ha escrit. A més, teniu la vostra pàgina d'usuari, on podeu posar les vostres dades, interessos, etc.

També seria convenient que llegíssiu els Cinc Pilars de la Viquipèdia i el llibre d'estil per a tenir una visió general i sintètica de les polítiques elementals que cal respectar per a poder editar en aquest projecte. És molt fàcil; bàsicament, cal utilitzar el sentit comú, respectar tothom, fonamentar les edicions en fonts comprovables i de qualitat i respectar el punt de vista neutral.

Si voleu trobar idees per a contribuir al projecte, visiteu el Portal del Viquipedista, on podreu coordinar-vos amb la resta dels viquipedistes. Així mateix, disposeu també de la taverna, per plantejar-hi els vostres dubtes, suggeriments o comentaris. Podeu signar en les discussions amb el botó de signatura de dalt de la barra d'edició , o bé amb el codi --~~~~.

Podeu visitar el Viquiprojecte Babel per a classificar-vos segons els idiomes que conegueu o a la pàgina d'Etiquetes d'usuari per a descriure-us. També podeu afegir-vos a la llista de viquipedistes, o connectar-vos al xat per a coordinar la feina de forma ràpida.

Viquipèdia és un projecte col·laboratiu multilingüe. Si voleu traduir un article d'un altre idioma abans d'ampliar-lo i millorar-lo esteu seguint l'esperit del projecte.

Allà trobareu articles curts per ampliar, pàgines requerides pels vincles d'altres usuaris, pàgines massa llargues que cal dividir i molts suggeriments de manteniment.

Traduccions títols de pel·lícules

En principi, si no han estat doblades, els t{itols de les pel licules no es traduiexen, nomes m'he saltat aquesta norma amb una peli coreana i amb una argelina, que jo recordi. Pots mirar si s'han doblat aqui [[1]] o aqui eldoblatge.com no s{on exactament igual les bases de dades que fan servir, per unes coses faig servir una i per altres l'altra. Ho sento estic de viatge, els teclats no funcionen igual. Pallares

El llibre d'estil al que es refereix Pallares és aquest: Viquipèdia:Llibre d'estil per a pel·lícules (exemple). Sobre la traducció de títols, i sempre en el cas que no hagi estat doblada al català, jo aplicaria el criteri que també es fa servir a l'òpera: els idiomes "afins" (francès, anglès, italià) no es tradueixen i la resta (alemany, rus, àrab ...) si.--Lohen11 (disc.) 09:06, 4 oct 2009 (CEST)

Nova Ona Txecoslovaca

viquiprojecte

Fa més de 15 mesos que es va posar en marxa el Viquiprojecte:cinema. D’aleshores ençà, la presència del cinema a la viquipèdia s’ha incrementat notablement. (un dia d’aquests tindrem dades exactes). Hi ha com a mínim un punt que caldria millorar i que crec que és al nostre abast si ens hi posem. I que va lligat a la qualitat de la Viqui, de vegades qüestionada. Em refereixo al nombre d’esborranys (uns 180, sumant els tres apartats afectats). Amb el bot traductor i potser amb una mica d’organització ens ho podríem treure de sobre en uns tres-quatre mesos, amb un esborrany/participant/setmana. Ja que tu participes normalment en articles d’aquesta temàtica, no sé què et sembla la idea i si hi col•laboraries. En el cas de comptar amb un quòrum suficient, muntaria un nou viquiprojecte. Silèsia

ja he vist la primera versió de Silèsia , perfecte! Abans d'afegir-hi més texte, crec que seria molt important afegir-hi un mapa de la Silèsia històrica, ja que és una forma molt ràpida de visualitzar de quin territori parlem, fins i tot si el mapa està en anglès. no és correcta. "Pàgina ER" no vol dir res, has de tenir una pàgina feta, en alemany no n'hi ha cap encara i ho pots deixar en blanc. Efectivament, l'objectiu és augmentar la productivitat de les traduccions. L'augment s'hauria d'aconseguir per cinc vies: 1)Deixar el text original i el text d'un traductor automatic ben intercalats per que el traductor se centri en la traducció tenint-ho tot en una pàgina. 2)Els enllaços interns els hauria de enllaçar perfecte a traves de les interwikis. 3)Les plantilles les hauria de traslladar a les seves equivalents en català en base a las pàgines de definició de com cal fer el trasllat. 4)Fer una proposta de traducció automàtica millor que la del traductor automàtic de la generalitat gracies a les pàgines de ER personalitzades per categories d'articles. 5)Automatitzar petites feines com la còpia de les interwikis i la colocació de les plantilles de traducció i traduït.

En alemany no tenim ni pàgines de ER ni pàgines de com cal traduir les plantilles i el resultat del traductor automàtic és força pobre, però si vols intentar-ho et puc ajudar. Actualment no hi ha cap article de la Viquipèdia que enllaci cap a l'article (fes clic aquí per veure-ho). Només hi enllacen dues pàgines d'usuari. Crec que una bona manera de solucionar-ho seria que hi hagués alguna article des d'on enllaçar-lo. Pots llegir Viquipèdia:Pàgines òrfenes per saber-ne més. L'article té un nom complicat possiblement hi hagi dificultats per a que un lector que cerqui aquest article el pugui trobar perquè no sàpiga escriure el títol de l'article. A Wikimania la participació és individual no en representació de cap projecte en concret. Ja molt mercès per a les teves correccions. Escrius a la teva pàgina web; «En tot cas el que evito és fer una traducció calcada (que aburrida seria la Wikipedia) i sempre forneixo els articles amb informació pròpia, ja que escric sobre temes que conec o llocs que he visitat.» és exactament el que jo faig també. L'Abendblatt article n'és un exemple: hi ha fotos que hom troba per a la primera vegada a la viqui catalana. Hola, Ferran, bona nit. He vist que tens millor nivell que jo de rus (que de tres paraules no passo), i voldria demanar-te si pots donar un cop d'ull a aquest article que he creat. És una adaptació cinematogràfica que va fer la URSS de l'obra de teatre. L'enllaç (extern) en rus l'he trobat a la Viquipèdia en anglès. M'interessa saber si els noms que he escrit (tal i com els he trobat en pàgines en anglès) són correctes en català, ja que les normes ortogràfiques angleses i catalanes no són les mateixes. Urgà i transcripcions del rus

Hola! Urgà en aquest cas és una paraula mongola, certament, però és també el nom de la pel·lícula russa, i en rus en diuen així (em sembla que el mot mongol és örgöö, si és la mateixa paraula que abans identificava la capital mongola, Ulan Bator). De tota manera, si et mires la pàgina de desambiguació de la viqui russa, veuràs que урга es refereix a diversos conceptes. Les normes de transcripció les pots trobar, per exemple, aquí. Jo faig servir més o menys aquestes, basades en les que va publicar l'IEC, amb la diferència que la essa intervocàlica mai la doblo (si no és que ja surt escrita així en rus), la e tònica l'accentuo oberta (è) i la consonant Щ la transcric xtx, no sx. Bé, hauríem de fer un article sobre això a la Viqui... Sempre en parlem i no ens hi acabem de posar... Pel que fa als noms que em dius: Александр Николаевич Сокуров (Aleksandr Nikolàievitx Sokúrov) ––> Aleksandr Sokúrov, Никита Сергеевич Михалков (Nikita Serguèievitx Mikhalkov) ––> Nikita Mikhalkov, Андрей [Петрович] Звягинцев (Andrei [Petróvitx] Zviàguintsev), Возвращение (Vozvraixtxènie), Андрей [Сергеевич] Михалков-Кончаловский (Andrei [Serguèievitx] Mikhalkov-Kontxalovski) ––> Andrei Mikhalkov-Kontxalovski (t'he afegit l'enllaç als articles ja existents i també, entre claudàtors, els patronímics que faltaven). Les normes de transcripció simplificada del rus al català més coherents són aquestes de l'IEC, ja que apliquen les normes d'accentuació catalanes perquè la paraula es pugui llegir el màxim de semblant a com es diu en rus, dintre de les possibilitats d'aproximació, és clar. Els francesos no posen accent tònic, però sí que accentuen les vocals per indicar que s'han de pronunciar tancades i no neutres, posen dièresi a la i per no fer diftong (Tchaïkovsky), etc.; els italians no marquen mai l'accent ortogràficament, excepte en els casos comptadíssims de les paraules agudes (Gesù, verrà, tornerò, così, perché, etc.), però en canvi amb els noms russos no acostumen a fer-ho; en castellà, en les transcripcions acurades, sí accentuen tot el que cal, igual que en portuguès; en grec ho accentuen sempre, perquè el grec sempre marca l'accent gràfic; evidentment les llengües germàniques o eslaves, com que no marquen l'accent tònic, no ho accentuen mai. I va molt bé que els russos accentuïn els noms propis a les enciclopèdies, ja que si no no sabrien com pronunciar els noms poc coneguts (i de passada ens ho fan més fàcil a nosaltres ); també accentuen als diccionaris bilingües els noms comuns, perquè els parlants d'una altra llengua sàpiguen com s'han de pronunciar. Ara, en la llengua escrita normal (diaris, llibres, cartells, etc.) no fan servir l'accent, només en obres d'esperit didàctic. Bona nit! --Enric (discussió) 01:15, 20 ago 2010 (CEST)

Tenim l'article Oscar a la millor pel·lícula de parla no anglesa, que està sense actualitzar (com els altres Oscar, per cert) i que conté molts títols que són de les àrees "orientals" per les quals et mous o com li vulguis dir, potser et vindrà de gust fer-ne alguna. Has traduït el títol rus al català, o és que aquest és el que té en la nostra llengua? Si és així, podries facilitar les referències, si us plau? Si no té títol en català, s'haurà de reanomenar a Kavkazskiy plennik, que és el títol amb què es coneix internacionalment. Ja em diràs quan puguis. Bones novament, Ferran. Primer, comentar-te que m'he adonat que se m'havia passat per alt respondre't perquè aquells dies (fa un mes, ja!) anava molt embolicada... Ara m'he tornat a topar amb un article creat per tu i m'ha vingut a la memòria que tenia pendent dir-te alguna cosa. Bé, el cas és que discrepo dels teus comentaris. A la Viquipèdia tenim unes normatives a seguir a l'hora d'anomenar pàgines (10: títols d'obres) i de traduir títols (últim punt), i també tenim un llibre d'estil per a pel·lícules i un exemple de com quedaria. En resum: si la pel·lícula no té títol en català no es pot donar a l'article un títol inventat perquè és una fal·làcia. Per a pel·lícules xineses o d'on siguin (que no comparteixin amb nosaltres l'arrel llatina), el títol transcrit (IMDb el facilita el 100% de les vegades) hauria de ser el nom de l'article, i el títol internacional amb que s'ha conegut (a festivals, per exemple) ha d'aparèixer a l'article i també hi ha de redirigir. El que sí pots fer és facilitar la traducció literal del títol; exemple: Títol original de la pel·lícula (literalment en català: el que sigui) és una pel·lícula de tal país dirigida per tal persona tal any. Ei, hola, Ferran! Veig que t'has llegit els meus comentaris. Segurament tens un problema amb el teclat que fa que s'esborrin alguns caracters determinats que prèviament estaven escrits. Bones, Ferran. Si la pel·lícula no té oficialment un títol en català simplement no el té; ja el tindrà algun dia (o no). Fer una traducció literal del títol és una altra cosa, però en aquest cas s'ha d'especificar que és una traducció literal perquè la pel·lícula no té aquest títol. I a la plantilla hi diu clarament "títol en català"; si aquest no existeix, posar-lo és una fal·làcia (és "inventar-se" una realitat). Si discrepes de la normativa, ves a la plana de discussió pertinent i dóna la teva opinió, però no facis la teva de manera unilateral; no sóc jo qui es mostra categòricA (ni t'has molestat a mirar amb qui parles!), simplement segueixo les normes establertes (que ja estan consensuades). Hola novament, Ferran. He estat una mica viquidesconnectada... No m'agrada ser repetitiva, de debò, però com ja t'he comentat més d'una vegada, el títol en català ha de ser el títol en català de veritat: o sigui, si existeix com a tal, i no la traducció al català o la transliteració al català quan una obra (pel·lícula o el que sigui) no té oficialment un títol en català perque no existeix la versió en català (perquè ningú no l'ha doblada i/o subtitolada). Per tant, on diu a la plantilla "títol en català" hi ha d'anar només si la versió existeix; si no existeix, va entre parèntesi en el cos de l'article, especificant que es tracta d'una traducció literal del títol, i no donant peu a pensar que la versió al català sí existeix. I quan una persona cerca una pel·lícula, si aquesta està en xinès la cerca pel títol en anglès (que és el que apareix arreu, la majoria de les vegades) o pel títol internacional amb què s'ha conegut a festivals i demés (i que sol ser en anglès o francès). Ningú no buscarà una pel·lícula xinesa per la traducció del títol al català si aquest no existeix; és més: si files molt prim la buscaran pel títol en castellà amb què sí s'ha estrenat als cinemes i ha sortit en premsa. Jo he mirat molt cinema iranià, japonès, xinès, coreà, rús, etc, inclús africà, i sovint els títols me'ls sé en francès o anglès perquè és com s'han presentat als cinemes: Où est la maison de mon ami?, Le Vot est secret, Russian Ark, i d'altres en el seu propi idioma Yadon ilaheyya, Bin-jip, Hana-bi, Smultronstället. Te les recomano totes d'altra banda, a excepció de Hana-bi que només la recomano a estòmacs forts; la violència no va amb mi... Espero haver-me fet entendre, finalment... Hola novament. Sí, el procediment de fusionar dos articles és aquest: agafar el principal (el més desenvolupat) i incorporar-hi la informació de l'altre, que es converteix en redirecció. Viquipèdia:Fusió. Estava intentant fent-ho; el que passa és que no me'n surto gaire bé perquè les dates no em quadren, i perquè "l'altre" no té referències i està mal traduït, i volent aprofitar tota la informació m'estava quedant una mica repetitiu... Per això et demanava ajuda, perquè potser ho veies amb més claredat que jo. Suposo que tens més i millor informació que jo, que ara mateix no sabria què descartar i què donar per bo... Si t'atreveixes, endavant: edita directament sobre el "teu" i incorpora-hi la informació vàlida de l'altre; sinó, podries guiar-me una mica, si us plau? Hola Ferran. En la plantilla {{Festivals de Cinema‎}} he realitzat bàsicament tres canvis: el primer és el paràmetre "name" perquè no quadrava amb el nom de la plantilla, el segon és el paràmetre "state", i el darrer és que he tret totes les plantilles {{·w}} perquè apareixien dos punts separadors entre els enllaços (p.ex.: enllaç1  ·  · enllaç2) i ara només n'apareix un, com en totes les plantilles. Viquiprojecte:Filmoteca de Catalunya

Hem començat aquest projecte de col•laboració amb la Filmoteca de Catalunya. Tot i ser a les beceroles, proposarem els propers dies un concurs sobre un dels focus de la Filmoteca al mes de juny. També estem estudiant els fons de la biblioteca de la Filmoteca, per poder crear nous articles, com ja ha començat a fer en Kippelboy. Avui el que et proposo és que et fixis en al programació juny 14 per animar-te crear o ampliar alguna d'aquestes pel•lícules que seran projectades el mes de juny a la Filmoteca de Catalunya. Mira, si tu (puedo tutear?) has hecho Bal (pel·lícula) debes saber de Saadet Aksoy pq tarabaja en Yumurta també. Yo podría hacer un article sobre ella, aunque no es tan importante en el cinema turc. También me gustaría desarrollar el article de Leyla Sayar i fer articles de altres actors i actrius turcs. Lo que pasa es que las dos tienen fotos en En:WP que no están en Commons. En:WP jacta ser la mas exigente de todas pero utiliza estas fotos sin problema. (En el caso de Leyla Sayar hablamos de una foto de medio siglo, por lo menos!) No me gusta mucho hacer articles de persones sense imatges, y los hago casí solamente cuando falta un article més per a una categoria etc. To cut a long story short, puedes cargar las fotos de estas dos hermosas mujeres a Commons para que me den más ganas de trabajar? :-) Moltes gràcies anticipades. --E4024 (disc.) 11:34, 21 gen 2016 (CET)

Els Tres de Gràcia

Hola F3RaN,

Fa uns dies em vaig assabentar, gràcies al missatge que em vas enviar, d'una edició "estranya" a l'article Els Tres de Gràcia que trencava totalment amb la lògica constructiva, ja no de les meves aportacions sinó de la Viquipèdia en general. La meva sorpresa va ser quan aquesta edició anava signada amb el meu usuari. Després d'analitzar-ho acuradament he arribat a la conclusió que s'ha patit una intrusió a la xarxa. Aquesta edició realment es fa fer en aquella hora però només afectava a una part, la qual consistia en l'addició de claudàtors a "passeig de Lluís Companys" per tal d'enllaçar-lo amb l'article existent. Em sap greu haver-te provocat aquest problema, jo mateix vaig revertir el canvi.

El cas està en mans d'Alerta Solidària perquè l'investigui. En més de 10 anys a la Viquipèdia no m'havia trobat una cosa així. També em vaig posar en contacte amb l'Amical Wikimedia i van tirar pilotes fora. Aquesta va ser la seva resposta:

L'edició que comentes elimina parts que havien estat afegides recentment. Això és degut a l'edició d'una versió anterior en l'historial, concretament la darrera que havies fet tu mateix i que es pot veure en la pàgina de diferències. És a dir, vas afegir l'enllaç en una edició anterior, segurament de forma inadvertida.

Revertint l'error i demanant disculpes a l'autor és suficient, però si ho prefereixes es pot amagar aquesta edició en l'historial per evitar suspicàcies.

No veig cap motiu per pensar que el teu compte hagi estat compromès. De totes formes sempre és recomanable canviar la contrasenya a una nova que no estiguis utilitzant en altres llocs web i que sigui prou segura. Amb aquesta mesura un pot quedar-se tranquil.

@Voraviu: No, cap problema. Gràcies. Llàstima només que ningú s'adonés que els teus articles no estaven a Fountain. El tool estava configurat per tancar-se automàticament a les 23.59 h. del 07.12, que era la data límit fixada pel projecte. For organizers:

Here are the basic guidance and regulations for organizers. Please remember to:

1. use Fountain tool (you can find the usage guidance easily on meta page), or else you and your participants’ will not be able to receive the prize from WAM team.
2. Add your language projects and organizer list to the meta page before October 29th, 2020.
3. Inform your community members WAM 2020 is coming soon!!!
4. If you want WAM team to share your event information on Facebook / twitter, or you want to share your WAM experience/ achievements on our blog, feel free to send an email to info@asianmonth.wiki or PM us via facebook.

Bones! Veuràs que en la meva classificació he posat articles amb zero punts. Més que ampliar articles m'he dedicat a actualitzar articles que estan desactualitzats, i en la majoria de casos, l'actualització, que ha valgut la pena, no puntuava. Em dona igual, només volia visibilitzar-los. El cas és que quan em trobo amb articles que han quedat desfassats, els marco amb {{obsolet}} i m'ha semblat bon moment per reparar. Em permeto fer-te un parell de sugerències: Per a la propera edició, com les d'actors son biografies que sovint em trobo desactualitzades, podries incloure la cerca d'obsolets? com a element del projecte? Hola F3RaN! Sembla que ha intentat crear una redirecció de Salvador Vázquez de Parga Chueca vers Salvador Vázquez de Parga, no se el motiu però els cas és que a la pàgina només hi havia et text "Salvador Vázquez de Parga" i això ha fet que un altre usuari demanés la supressió. En comptes de suprimir he creat la redirecció. Per si de cas, et comento que amb l'editor visual, una redirecció es fa fent clic sobre el botó en forma de tres ratlletes horitzontals que hi ha a la dreta, al costat de la icona interrogació (ajuda), i seleccionant l'opció "Configuració de la pàgina", i, dins la caixa que apareixerà, seleccionant l'opció "Redirigeix aquesta pàgina" i escrivint a sota (al quadre gris amb la llegenda "Pàgina destinació de la redirecció") el nom de la pàgina objectiu. Here are the basic guidance and regulations for organizers. Please remember to:

Hello all Wikipedia Asian Month campaign organizors,

The last WAM campaign has ended yesterday. Thank you all so much for organizing and participating this year's Wikipedia Asian Month Campaign. Give yourself and all editors a big applaud!

While editors can take a break, the jury's work is just about to begin. Some WAM ended earlier, and has already finished the audit and review of all contributions. Just a reminder, this year, the rules has changed to whoever edit more than 3000 bytes with relaible sources can grant a barnstar (it doesn's has to be a newly created page). So make sure you include those editors, no matter with tool you are using for edit tracking.

We suggest January 20th to be the deadline for all campaign to finalize their list, and report the username of "Ambassador" (who has the most edit at your campaign) and a list of all eligible editors at the WAM 2022 Ambassadors page, List of eligible editors(page link) column.

You are humbly invited to organize the Feminism and Folklore 2023 writing competition from February 1, 2023, to March 31, 2023. This year, Feminism and Folklore will focus on feminism, women's issues, and gender-focused topics for the project, with a Wiki Loves Folklore gender gap focus and a folk culture theme on Wikipedia.

You can help Wikipedia's coverage of folklore from your area by writing or improving articles about things like folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, women and queer folklore figures, folk game athletes, women in mythology, women warriors in folklore, witches and witch hunting, fairy tales, and more. Users can help create new articles, expand or translate from a list of suggested articles.

Organisers are requested to work on the following action items to sign up their communities for the project:

1. Create a page for the contest on the local wiki.
2. Set up a fountain tool or dashboard.
3. Create the local list and mention the timeline and local and international prizes.
4. Request local admins for site notice.
5. Link the local page and the fountain/dashboard link on the meta project page.

This year we would be supporting the community's financial aid for Internet and childcare support. This would be provided for the local team including their jury and coordinator team. This support is opt-in and non mandatory. Kindly fill in this Google form and mark a mail to support@wikilovesfolklore.org with the subject line starting as [Stipend] Name or Username/Language. The last date to sign up for internet and childcare aid from our team is 20th of January 2023, We encourage the language coordinators to sign up their community on this link by the 25th of January 2023.

Projectes

Al final no vaig poder tindre a punt el bot per al viquiprojecte. Hi ha certes coses que no tenia clar com resoldre. Crec que s'ha de poder discutir per a fer un bon treball. Intentaré acabar el bot i posar-lo en marxa de manera que comptabilitze els resultats i així poder comprovar que són els que s'esperen. La idea es que es puga aplicar en altres projectes i poder parametritzar les condicions de manera que ningú haja de dedicar-se a fer el recompte, prioritzant per a tots que l'important siga aportar contingut de qualitat. Join the Wikipedia Asian Month 2023

Dear all,

The Wikipedia Asian Month 2023[1] is coming ! The campaign start within a flexible 30 days from November to December. Following with the changes of the rules made by last year, the wish to have more people get to know Asia and Asian related topic is the same! Click "Here" to Organize/Join a WAM Event.

1. Propose "Focus Theme" related to Asia !

If you are based somewhere in Asia, or have specific passion on an Asian topic, please propose your "Focus Theme" by October 25th. The WAM international team will select 5 themes. Please propose your focus theme through this link[2].

2. Enhancing existing articles can also count as part of campaign contribution.

Any edits, including creating new articles or adding new content to existing articles, over 3000 bytes in total would be able to get a reward. Last year, due to this change of rules, the Programs & Events Dashboard was suggested. However, according to community survey of 2022, Fountain Tool is still the best platform for tracking edit and points. You don’t need to create any Dashboard. For the tracking of editing existing article, the international team is currently designing a form. Will soon publish to the main page of WAM 2023.

3. More flexible campaign time

The contribution duration would remain 30days, but we extended the overall campaign timeline to 2 months. All organizers can decide when to start their WAM as long as the whole duration is within November 1st to December 31th. It means that you can participate in WAM based on the needs of your local community.

Timetable

• October 1st, 2023 : Publish International Campaign Page of the Year
• October 5th to 25th, 2023 : Call for focus themes of WAM 2023.
• Before 29 October, 2023: Complete Registration [3] of Each language Wikipedia.
• November 1st, UTC 00:00 to December 31th, UTC 00:00, 2023: Running the Campaign. (Find your local campaign for the actual event date.)
• January 1st to March 15th, 2024: Auditing of each language Wikipedia.
• March 30th, 2024: Deadline of reporting statistics and eligible editors to the International Team
• April 1st to May 15th, 2024: The international team distributes Barnstars and Certificates to eligible editors of each event.

2023 WAM Message to Organizers

Dear Wikipedia Asian Month Campaign organizers,

The 2023 Wikipedia Asian Month (WAM) Campaign has ended. On behalf of the WAM International Team, we express our gratitude for your effort and participation.

We are writing to remind you to begin the jury process. Some WAM Campaigns ended earlier, and have already finished auditing and reviewing contributions.

Please suggest all campaigns to complete the following before January 31th, 2024:

1. Finalize their list

2. Report the username of your Wikipedia Asian Ambassador, the participant who has the most edit in your campaign

3. Update a list of all eligible editors on the 2023 WAM Ambassadors page, list of eligible editors column

Invitation to Organize Feminism and Folklore 2024 Writing Competition

We extend a heartfelt invitation to you to organize the Feminism and Folklore 2024 writing competition, which is scheduled to take place from February 1, 2024, to March 31, 2024. This year's edition of Feminism and Folklore will concentrate on feminism, women's issues, and gender-focused topics, aligning with a Wiki Loves Folklore gender gap focus and featuring a folk culture theme on Wikipedia.

This year we have created two new Tools for the Feminism and Folklore project. The tool is called Campwiz. This tool is created by the international Tech team of Wiki Loves Folkore especially crafted for Feminism and Folklore project. The tool works as same as fountain or dashboard but has extra abilities required for jury and submission of articles.

To create a new campaign on Campwiz, organizers to follow these steps:

1. Go to the tool link: https://tools.wikilovesfolklore.org/
2. Select your wiki on which you want to organize the campaign (enter the name or short code, such as "ca" for català Viquipèdia).
3. Give your campaign a name example "Feminism and Folklore 2024 on català Viquipèdia)".
4. Select the start and end dates (note: keep your start date as Feb 1 and end date as March 31).
5. Provide a description for your campaign (you can briefly describe the campaign in this section).
6. Make sure to keep the checkboxes ticked for "Allow users to submit articles that were not created but expanded." if you want to use the campaign for expanded articles also.
7. Keep minimum added bytes as 4000 and minimum added words as 400 and click next.
8. In the jury section, keep the checkboxes ticked for "Allow jury members to participate in the campaign" and "Prevent jury members from seeing each other's votes." As per your preference.
9. Under the jury search box, type the username of your jury and click on the "+" button to add; you can add multiple jury members.
10. Click next to review and then click on save.

With this we have also created a Missing article tool. This tool identifies articles in the English Wikipedia that are absent from your native language Wikipedia. You can customize your selection criteria, and our tool will provide you with a table displaying the missing articles along with suggested titles. You also have the option to download the list in both CSV and wikitable formats.

Both tools, the Missing Article Tool and the Campwiz Tool, are now available for public use during the Feminism and Folklore campaign. You can find more information about these tools here: https://tools.wikilovesfolklore.org/

There are also some changes in the rules and criteria's. Please go through the rules below.

1. Minimum Length: The expanded or new article should have a minimum of 4000 bytes or 400 words, ensuring sufficient depth and coverage of the chosen topic. The local organizers are free to choose the minimum length criteria as per needs of their local Wikipedia and must be clearly mention on local project page.
2. Language Quality: Articles should not be poorly machine-translated, ensuring that language quality and readability are maintained at a high standard.
3. Timeline of Creation or Expansion: The article should be created or expanded between 1 February and 31 March, aligning with the specified contest timeline.
4. Theme Relevance: Articles should directly address the theme of feminism and folklore, exploring connections between gender, cultural traditions, and intangible heritage.
5. No Orphaned Articles: Articles must not be orphaned, meaning they should be linked from at least one other article to ensure visibility within the Wikipedia ecosystem.
6. No Copyright violations: There should be no copyright violations, and articles should adhere to local Wikipedia policies on notability, ensuring that the content meets the standards for notability.
7. Adequate references and Citations: Each article should include proper references and citations following local Wikipedia policies, ensuring the reliability and credibility of the information presented.
