English: Auto wreck, Washington, D.C., USA, 1923. A Chevrolet 490 is shown with wheel spokes broken on the visible wheels; a group of men and youths are standing around the auto. Note the double license plates for Washington D.C. and for Maryland, predating time when a single auto license could be used across state lines in the U.S.A. In the background is the Thomas Jefferson Building, known as the Library of Congress Building at the time.

Remarquez les deux plaques d'immatriculation du Maryland et du district de Washington sur cette Chevrolet 490, à l'époque où il n'y avait pas une plaque commune pouvant être utilisée dans plusieurs États.
