Champsodon omanensis és una espècie de peix marí pertanyent a la família dels campsodòntids i a l'ordre dels perciformes.[6]

Descripció[modifica]

Fa 10,6 cm de llargària màxima.[7]

Alimentació[modifica]

El seu nivell tròfic és de 3.[8]

Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica[modifica]

És un peix marí, batidemersal (entre 135 i 1.120 m de fondària),[9] el qual viu a la mar Roja[10][11][12][13] i la mar d'Aràbia:[14][15][16][9] Israel[17][18] i Oman,[19][16] incloent-hi les illes Dahlak, el golf de Suez, el golf d'Aden,[16][20] el golf d'Oman[16][21] i el golf d'Àqaba.[22][18][23][24][4] No és gens clar si n'hi ha dues poblacions separades (una entre 360 i 380 m de fondària i una altra entre 1.085 i 1.120 m) o si és una mateixa població que realitza migracions verticals.[7]

Observacions[modifica]

És inofensiu per als humans[7] i el seu índex de vulnerabilitat és baix (10 de 100).[25]
