Clytocerus és un gènere d'insectes dípters pertanyent a la família dels psicòdids que es troba a Europa (la Gran Bretanya, França -incloent-hi l'illa de Còrsega-, Suècia, els Països Baixos, Eslovàquia,[3] Txèquia,[4][5] Grècia, Bòsnia i Hercegovina, Noruega,[6] Finlàndia,[7][8] Letònia i Rússia -incloent-hi l'Extrem Orient Rus-)[9][10][11] i Àfrica (l'arxipèlag de Madeira, Algèria, Nigèria, Uganda, Malawi, Tanzània, Kenya, Zimbàbue i Sud-àfrica).[12][13][14][15]
