Was she a nationalist? Yes. Who won the Liberation War in Turkey (in which she was also active)? The Nationalists. Then it does not make sense to say she was sent to exile because she was a nationalist. She was a nationalist but she was not sent to exile (or went to exile) for that reason. Some people were nationalists in the sense to save the country, but roads were separated between people after regaining the total independence. The Turks, in great majority followed Atatürk and chose the Republic founded by him and his friends-in-arms. Probably Halide Edib would have been on the same side (she was there for three years after the Republic was founded) forever; it must be something different and other than nationalism for which she and her husband, Dr. Adnan had to leave the country. We must not write anything that "does not make sense". If we do not know what is what or we do not have reliable sources than we should not write those things. On the other hand, when we say someone was the first woman to do this or that we also need sources. The articles about several Turkish women I have written here and will continue to do so, show that it is very difficult, even with sources, to say that "X was the first Turkish woman to do something in 1895", and later you find out that another Turkish women did the same at least 25 years ago! The first thing to learn about Turkish women, my favourite area of work in Wikipedias, together with Turkish cuisine, is that they surprise you all the time. Did I say I was going to write in French? Sorry. :) --E4024 (disc.) 22:33, 27 març 2020 (CET)[respon]

References[modifica]

Please look at the "References". There are only "notes" and in German! It would have been easier to write this article from scrap. How come it was translated from Spanish?! --E4024 (disc.) 22:42, 27 març 2020 (CET)[respon]
