Deutsch: erste Bilder für Liebigs Fleischextrakt erschienen um 1875. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt lebte A. W. von Hofmann noch. Sein Abbild sollte dem Druckdatum 1880-1890 entsprechen, die gezeigte Handlung in England trifft jedoch den Zeitraum 1845-1860. Im Bild trägt er den Adelstitel von 1888.

  • Reverse: Throw some Oxo cubes in the water that is used to cook your vegetables, pasta, potatoes, etc.. for the family table. You'll be surprised, madam, they will gain intrinsic flavor. Although the Oxo cubes contain meat extract [from the] Liebig Company, they are cheap.
  • Inauguration of the School of Chemistry in London by August William Hofmann in 1846. Until the 19th century chemists generally took care of all areas of chemistry, but [after] that time, we [see the emergence of] a subdivision of chemistry branches. August William Hofmann gave a scientific basis for the dyestuffs industry. In 1846 he founded the London Academy of Chemistry at the School of Mines. Chemistry owes much to the work of Hofmann (1818-1892), which can be considered one of the greatest chemists that ever existed.

Auguste Guillaume Hofmann donna / des bases scientifiques à l'industrie des matiéres colorants. En 1846, il créa à Londres / l'Académie de Chimie à l'Ecole des Mines.
