English: The city seal of Newport News, Virginia. It features an image of a green-colored tree with three sailing ships on an ocean background, surrounded by the words "CORPORATION OF NEWPORT NEWS", "1958", "VIRGINIA". The seal itself appears to be a an early sailing ship's wheel, giving a nod to the city's nautical and maritime history and status as a port city.
