Grossadmiral Karl Doenitz in the custody of the British Army after his arrest. As Hitler's chosen successor from 30 April 1945, he negotiated the capitulation of German Forces in the west.

Kriegsende.- Verhaftung von Großadmiral Karl Dönitz, Generaloberst Alfred Jodl und Prof. Albert Speer durch englische Soldaten. — Korrektur durch einen Flensburger: Bild entstand offenbar nach der Verhaftung im Hof der Polizei; also der Hof der zum Dönitzhof führt.
