Gymnoscopelus nicholsi és una espècie de peix de la família dels mictòfids i de l'ordre dels mictofiformes.

Morfologia[modifica]

Alimentació[modifica]

Menja eufausiacis, Hyperiidea, misidacis, copèpodes i amfípodes.[3]

Depredadors[modifica]

És depredat per Gymnodraco acuticeps (Antàrtida), Paradiplospinus gracilis (Illes Shetland del Sud), Lampris immaculatus (Illes Malvines),[5] Salilota australis (Illes Malvines), Trematomus eulepidotus (Antàrtida), Diomedea chrysostoma (Antàrtida), Thalassarche chrysostoma (Xile), Arctocephalus gazella (Illes Òrcades del Sud), Arctocephalus tropicalis (Illes del Príncep Eduard)[6] i Aptenodytes patagonicus (Illes Crozet).[7][8][9]

Hàbitat[modifica]

És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes.[3]

Distribució geogràfica[modifica]

Es troba a l'oceà Antàrtic i aigües properes.[3][10][11][12][13][14]
