Lumpenus és un gènere de peixos de la família dels estiquèids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.[4]

És circumpolar i es troba a l'Àrtic[5] (des del mar de Barentsz[6] fins a l'oest de Groenlàndia),[7] el Pacífic nord (des del mar del Japó,[8] Sakhalín -Rússia-[9] i el mar d'Okhotsk[10] fins al mar de Bering,[11] l'illa de Sant Llorenç, Alaska,[12] l'illa d'Adak i Califòrnia)[13] i l'Atlàntic nord-occidental (des de Spitsbergen fins a Escandinàvia,[14] el mar del Nord,[15] la mar Bàltica,[16] les illes Fèroe, Islàndia,[17] Groenlàndia,[18] la península del Labrador, Terranova, el Quebec,[19] Nova Escòcia i la badia de Massachusetts).[20]
