Sheila Heti (Toronto, 1976) és una escriptora canadenca en anglès, considerada com una de les figures emergents de la nova narrativa internacional, sovint emmarcada en corrents com l'Alt-Lit ("Alternative Literature").[1][2] Algunes de les seves novel·les s'han traduït al català.
Biografia
[modifica]Sheila Heti va néixer el 25 de desembre de 1976 aToronto, on viu.[3][4] Els seus pares són immigrants jueus hongaresos.[5] El seu germà és el còmic David Heti.
Sheila Heti va estudiar a la St. Clement's School de Toronto. Es va graduar al North Toronto Collegiate Institute de Toronto. Després va estudiar dramaturgia a la National Theatre School of Canada (deixant el programa després d'un any) i després història de l'art i filosofia a la Universitat de Toronto.[4] Heti va dir que el Marquès de Sade i Henry Miller són de les seves primeres influències literàries.[4]
