Valamugil speigleri és una espècie de peix de la família dels mugílids i de l'ordre dels mugiliformes.

Morfologia[modifica]

Reproducció[modifica]

És ovípar i els ous són pelàgics.[6]

Alimentació[modifica]

Els alevins es nodreixen de copèpodes i algues flotants, mentre que els adults mengen algues (incloent-hi diatomees), detritus i d'altres matèries orgàniques.[4]

Hàbitat[modifica]

És un peix de clima tropical i demersal.[4]

Distribució geogràfica[modifica]

Es troba des del Pakistan[7] fins a Nova Guinea i la Xina.[4][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21]

Ús comercial[modifica]

Es comercialitza fresc, cuit (Tailàndia), enllaunat o congelat (Austràlia). Els ous són venuts com a caviar.[22]

Observacions[modifica]

És inofensiu per als humans.[4]
