Lactoria diaphana és una espècie de peix de la família dels ostràcids i de l'ordre dels tetraodontiformes.

Alimentació[modifica]

Menja invertebrats bentònics.[7]

Depredadors[modifica]

És depredat per Alepisaurus ferox.[8][9]

Hàbitat[modifica]

És un peix de clima tropical i associat als esculls de corall que viu entre 8-50 m de fondària.[5][10]

Distribució geogràfica[modifica]

Es troba a Namíbia[11] i des de Sud-àfrica fins a Indonèsia, l'illa de Pasqua, el Perú, el sud del Japó, Hawaii, el sud de Califòrnia, Nova Caledònia, Nova Gal·les del Sud (Austràlia) i les illes Kermadec.[12][5][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26] [27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38]

Observacions[modifica]

És verinós per als humans.[5]
