The name "Aleut" in English 2 usage:

1. True Aleut (own name: Unangan) : The natives of the Aleutian Islands. Aleut branch of Eskimo-Aleut languages.

2. Kodiak "Aleut" (own name: Sugpiaq or Alutiiq) : The natives of the Kodiak Island. Yupik sub-branch of Eskimo branch of Eskimo-Aleut languages. Kodiak "Aleuts" are not Aleut, they are "Alutiiq". Alutiiq is not Aleut!

This image (Aleut village.jpg) is not "Aleut of Aleutian Islands". Because, Salmon drying. Alutiiq village, Old Harbor, Alaska on the Kodiak Island. Kodiak Island is native territory of Alutiiq Yupiks (not Aleuts!) --Kmoksy (disc.) 03:56, 6 maig 2011 (CEST)

Aleuta

El nom correcte del poble i de la llengua és aleuta; consulteu el diccionari de l'IEC, i compareu amb entrades en altres llengües romàniques. Aleutià és un gentilici genèric referent a les illes Auleutianes; no pas una designació específicament etnolingüística.Joan Rocaguinard (disc.)
