English: Ellis Humphrey Evans ("Hedd Wyn") (1887-1917). Renowned Welsh-language poet. Killed in World War I when only 20 years old, he became a powerful symbol in Wales of the pointless waste and human tragedy of that war. Frontispiece of Cerddi'r Bugail (1918).
