Margariscus margarita és una espècie de peix de la família dels ciprínids i de l'ordre dels cipriniformes present a Amèrica del Nord.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16] Els mascles poden assolir 16 cm de longitud total.[2][17] És un peix d'aigua dolça i de clima subtropical.[2] Menja copèpodes, cladòcers, quironòmids, coleòpters i algues.[16] La fresa ocorre durant la primavera.[18]
