Arnaurs/Regé-Jean Page () és un actor britànic i zimbabuès. És conegut per fer de Chicken George a la minisèrie Roots (2016) i del 2018 al 2019 va ser membre regular del repartiment del drama legal d'ABC For the People. Des del 2020 ha fet de Simon Basset, duc de Hastings, al drama d'època de Netflix Bridgerton.[1]
Infantesa i educació[modifica]
Page va néixer a Londres,[2][3][4] fill d'una infermera zimbabuesa i d'un predicador anglès.[5] És el segon més jove de quatre germans i va estar en una banda amb el seu germà petit.[6] Page va passar la infantesa a Harare (Zimbàbue) abans de tornar a Londres per anar a l'institut.[7]
Després de tornar a Anglaterra, Page va començar teatre com a hobby a l'escola Sabatina.[8] ElNational Youth Theatre va canviar la seva trajectòria. Després de fer audicions dos anys, Page va ser acceptat was al Drama Centre London , graduant-s'hi el 2013.
Carrera[modifica]
Page began his career on stage, appearing in The History Boys and The Merchant of Venice opposite Jonathan Pryce.[9] He also starred in the final season of BBC Three drama series Waterloo Road in 2015.
In 2016, Page made his American debut playing the role of Chicken George in the History Channel big budget miniseries Roots, a remake of the 1977 miniseries with the same name, based on Alex Haley's 1976 novel, Roots: The Saga of an American Family. The series and Page's performance received critical acclaim.[10][11][12] Also that year, he was cast as a male lead in the ABC pilot Spark.[13] The following year, he was cast in the Shonda Rhimes-produced legal drama series For the People.[14][15] The series was canceled after two seasons in 2019. Page also appeared in the 2018 post-apocalyptic film Mortal Engines and had a supporting role in the 2020 drama film Sylvie's Love.[16] He later was cast in a male leading role in the Shonda Rhimes-produced period drama series Bridgerton for Netflix.[17][18]
In February 2021, it was announced that he had been cast in the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons film.[19]
