Hello everybody !

Sorry not to write in Catalan and sorry if this is not the most appropriate place to post a message, I did not find a forum dedicated to foreign language speakers.

Some time ago I was quite surprised to discover that many personalities coming from the french department of Pirineus Orientals were described in their Catalan Wikipedia pages as "nord-català" only. Moreover some names were only offered in their catalan version without the french one (although occuring much more frequently, if not exclusively, outside wikipedia).

I tried to edit in a way to be more precise more respectful of encyclopedic standard and sources. From what I understood the concept of Nord-Catalunya is now in widespread use in Catalàn so I only added the mention that they were french and added their names in French without changing the one in Catalàn, although after some searches they don't seem to be really used.

I want to be clear that I only changed the pages of individuals known for their political activities in France and not for any special engagement in the catalàn movement, for whom it would be legitimate to use a Catalan name as long as they use it.

Some of my edits were nonetheless reverted based on spurious reasons if any.

I don't understand why people such as Etienne Arago , François Bonaventure Arago, Jean-Paul Alduy, François Calvet and Hermeline Malherbe-Laurent could not be presented as French in addition to Nord-Català, could not have their names written in the manner it is most frequently written outside of this encyclopedia, could not be said to live in Pirineus Orientals, as it is the name of the departement where they live.

The Arago family were all implicated in french politics at the national level (general, minister, deputies) or at the municipal level in Paris (mayor and deputy). Jean-Paul Alduy, François Calvet and Hermeline Malherbe-Laurent are/were senators for their departement ("Pirineus Orientals" in Catalan and not exactly "Nord-Catalunya").

Thanks you for your help !

"Nord-català" means French. Adding it would be redundant.
