Neolecta és un gènere de fongs Ascomycota que tenen cossos fructífers amb la forma de bastons de colors groc o taronja que fan fins 7 cm d'alt.[3][4]
Neolecta és l'únic gènere dins la família Neolectaceae, la qual és l'única dins l'ordre Neolectales. Neolectales, al seu torn és l'unic ordre de la classe Neolectomycetes, la qual pertany a la subdivisió Taphrinomycotina dels Ascomycota.[5]
Neolecta es troba a Àsia, Amèrica del Nordd, Nord d'europa i Argentina.[4] Vien associats amb arbres i N. vitellina, creix sobre les arreletes del seu hoste,[6] però no se sap si els fong és paràsit, sapròfit o mutualístic[4]. Es diu que és comestible.[3]
