Polyipnus asteroides és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels esternoptíquids.[4]

Hàbitat[modifica]
És un peix marí i batipelàgic que viu entre 366 i 732 m de fondària.[5]
Distribució geogràfica[modifica]
Es troba a l'Atlàntic occidental central: el Canadà, Cuba, Groenlàndia, Puerto Rico i els Estats Units.[5][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]
Observacions[modifica]
És inofensiu per als humans.[5]
