Les tribus no reconegudes als Estats Units són organitzacions de persones que diuen ser històricament, cultural i genèticament relacionades a les tribus natives americanes històriques, però que actualment no estan oficialment reconegudes com a nacions índies legítimes pel govern federal dels Estats Units o pels estats individuals. Els següents són els grups que diuen ser nadius amerindis per ètnia, però la legitimitat històrica i cultural dels quals no és reconeguda ni pel govern federal a través de la Bureau of Indian Affairs[1] ni per cap govern estatal als Estats Units, i les reclamacions dels quals no han estat provades.

En 1994 l'estat de Califòrnia reconegué oficialment la Tribu Gabrielino-Tongva Tribe en Assembly Joint Resolution 96, Resolution Chapter 146 dels estatuts de 1994. La tribu, tanmateix, s'ha trencat en nombroses faccions, algunes de les quals cerquen el reconeixement federal com a tribus separades. Les tres faccions més grans i més prominents són: Gabrielino-Tongva Tribe[21] (o San Gabriel Band of Mission Indians com s'hi referia històricament), Gabrieleno/Tongva Tribal Council of San Gabriel[22] i Gabrieleno/Tongva Nation[23] (a.k.a.
