Sebastes flammeus és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels sebàstids i a l'ordre dels escorpeniformes.[2]

Descripció[modifica]

Fa 50 cm de llargària màxima[3] i, morfològicament parlant, és similar a Sebastes aleutianus i Sebastes melanostictus.[4]

Reproducció[modifica]

És de fecundació interna[5] i vivípar.[6]

Alimentació[modifica]

El seu nivell tròfic és de 3,1.[7]

Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica[modifica]

És un peix marí i batidemersal (entre 300 i 500 m de fondària),[3] el qual viu al Pacífic[3] nord-occidental: el nord del Japó,[8][3][9][10][11][12] incloent-hi els monts submarins Milwaukee,[13] Kimmei i Koko.[14][15][16][1][17][18]

Observacions[modifica]

És inofensiu per als humans[17] i el seu índex de vulnerabilitat és d'alt a molt alt (69 de 100)[19]
