Stomias boa ferox és una subespècie de peix de la família dels estòmids i de l'ordre dels estomiformes. Els mascles poden assolir 30 cm de longitud total.[4][5] És ovípar.[4] Menja peixos i crustacis.[4] És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes.[4] Es troba a l'Atlàntic oriental (des d'Islàndia[6] fins a les Illes Canàries)[7] i l'Atlàntic occidental (des de Groenlàndia fins als Estats Units).[8][9][4][10][11]
