Syncomistes butleri és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels terapòntids.[3]
Descripció[modifica]
Reproducció[modifica]
Assoleix la maduresa sexual en arribar als 20-22 cm de llargària i es reprodueix entre el novembre i el desembre (quan la temperatura de l'aigua augmenta al voltant dels 29 °C).[6]
Alimentació[modifica]
És herbívor[7] i es nodreix d'algues.[4]
Depredadors[modifica]
És depredat per la barramunda catàdroma (Lates calcarifer).[8][9]
Hàbitat[modifica]
És un peix d'aigua dolça, bentopelàgic i de clima temperat.[4]
Distribució geogràfica[modifica]
És un endemisme d'Austràlia.[4][10]
Observacions[modifica]
És inofensiu per als humans.[4]
