Schistura és un gènere de peixos de la família dels balitòrids i de l'ordre dels cipriniformes.[2]

Es troba a Àsia: Turquia[3], Síria, l'Iran, el Pakistan[4], l'Índia -Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur[5][6][7][8], Nagaland i Meghalaya-[9], el Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Birmània, la Xina -Guangdong, Yunnan, Hong Kong i Sichuan-[10][11][12][13][14][15], Cambodja, el Vietnam[16], Malàisia i l'illa de Borneo, incloent-hi els Ghats Occidentals[17], l'Himàlaia i les conques dels rius Irauadi, Indus, Helmand, Salween, Mekong, Lam, Roig, Chao Phraya i Brahmaputra.[18][19][20][21][22][23]
