La 70ena edició dels Premis Tony va ser celebrada el 12 de juny de 2016 per reconèixer els èxits de les produccions de Broadway durant la temporada 2015–16. La cerimònia es va celebrar al Beacon Theatre (Manhattan, Nova York) i va ser emesa en directe per la cadena CBS.[1] James Corden va ser el presentador de la gala.[2]
Hamilton va rebre un rècord de 16 nominacions en 13 categories i va guanyar en 11.[3] El revival de The Color Purple va guanyar dos premis. The Humans va guanyar 4 premis mentre que els revivals de les obres Long Day's Journey into Night i A View from the Bridge van emportar-se dos premis.[4]
