Uroconger lepturus és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels còngrids.[2]

Descripció[modifica]

  • Pot arribar a fer 52 cm de llargària màxima (normalment, en fa 30).
  • Nombre de vèrtebres: 210.
  • Cap petit.
  • Pell suau i sense escates.
  • Aleta pectoral curta.
  • És de color gris o marró clar, amb el ventre més clar i les aletes més fosques.[3][4][5]

Alimentació[modifica]

Menja sobretot petits crustacis bentònics.[6]

Hàbitat[modifica]

És un peix marí, demersal i de clima tropical que viu entre 18 i 760 m de fondària.[3][7]

Distribució geogràfica[modifica]

Es troba des del mar Roig i Sud-àfrica (KwaZulu-Natal) fins al Japó.[3][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31]

Observacions[modifica]

És inofensiu per als humans.[3]
