Nomenclatura
Sinònims

Apogonichthyoides nigripinnis és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels apogònids.

Descripció[modifica]

  • Pot arribar a fer 10 cm de llargària màxima.
  • Té una franja vertical a sota de cada aleta dorsal i a la base de l'aleta caudal (en pot tindre una quarta entre la segona dorsal i la base de la caudal).
  • Presenta una gran taca per damunt de les aletes pectorals.
  • Aletes pèlviques negres, pectorals clares i les altres fosques.
  • 8 espines i 8-9 radis tous a l'aleta dorsal i 2 espines i 7-8 radis tous a l'anal.[5]

Reproducció[modifica]

Els mascles incuben els ous dins llurs boques.[6][7]

Alimentació[modifica]

Menja zooplàncton durant la nit.[8]

Hàbitat[modifica]

És un peix marí, associat als esculls[9] i de clima subtropical que viu entre 1 i 50 m de fondària.[5][8]

Distribució geogràfica[modifica]

Es troba a Austràlia,[10][11][12][13][14] Egipte, Hong Kong,[15] Indonèsia, l'Iran,[16] Moçambic,[17][18][19][20] Oman,[21] Palau, el Sudan i Taiwan.[22] Ha colonitzat la Mediterrània oriental (Xipre, Israel i Turquia[23][24])[25][26] a través del Canal de Suez.[27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43]

Observacions[modifica]

És inofensiu per als humans, de costums nocturns i ha estat criat en captivitat.[44][5]
