Malacocephalus occidentalis és una espècie de peix de la família dels macrúrids i de l'ordre dels gadiformes.

Morfologia[modifica]

Alimentació[modifica]

Menja crustacis pelàgics.[7]

Hàbitat[modifica]

És un peix d'aigües profundes que viu entre 140-1945 m de fondària,[8] tot i que, normalment, ho fa entre 300-500.[5]

Distribució geogràfica[modifica]

Es troba a les aigües tropicals i càlides de l'oceà Atlàntic.[5][9]
