Will Smith va néixer el 25 de setembre de 1968 a Filadèlfia (Pennsilvània). La revista Newsweek l'ha qualificat com l'actor més poderós del planeta.[1] Smith ha estat nominat quatre vegades als Globus d'Or, dos premis Oscars i ha guanyat molts Grammys.
Smith va saltar a la fama com a cantant amb el paper de Fresh Prince al 1980. El paper més important que va tenir a la televisió va ser el de William "Will" Smith a la sèrie The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Al cinema, el seu paper més important va ser com a Agent J a Men in Black i Men in Black II, com a detectiu Spooner a Jo, robot, Muhammad Ali a Ali, detectiu Mike Lowrey a Bad Boys i Bad Boys II. També va ser important el seu paper a Independence Day i, més recentment, com a Chris Gardner a la pel·lícula La recerca de la felicitat amb el seu fill Jaden Smith, i com a Robert Neville a Sóc llegenda amb la seva filla, Willow Smith.
